The Grand Escape is a stunning 4-bedroom Summerland retreat with breathtaking ocean views. Relax in the private jacuzzi, grill on the BBQ, and enjoy beach days with provided chairs, towels, and gear. Just minutes from downtown Santa Barbara and charming Summerland shops, this home offers the perfect blend of coastal relaxation and convenience.
This home is pet friendly and has a fenced-in arena for dogs to play in. Relax, unwind and enjoy your stay at the Grand Escape!

This home features an open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area designed for gathering and relaxation, plus a spacious primary suite, a cozy queen guest room, and a fun bunk room with a trundle bunk bed (3 beds)—perfect for families and friends. Upstairs, enjoy a private queen bedroom with stunning ocean views, an en-suite bathroom, and a sun-filled deck made for morning coffee or sunset cocktails by the sea.

Disclosures: The home is a duplex with the top floor occupied by a long-term tenant. Your rental includes the entire bottom floor plus a side upstairs room with a beach view. Up to 2 dogs are welcome (must stay off furniture, use the restroom outdoors, and not be left unattended; fees may apply for violations or damages). Please note this is a charming older home with some dents/cracks and areas of uneven flooring due to natural settling and may not be suitable for elderly guests. Free parking is available for up to 2 vehicles, with overflow nearby—please inquire.

Whether you’re gathering with friends, traveling with family, or simply here to enjoy the coast, The Grand Escape is the perfect place to unwind. Come for the space and ocean views, stay for the Driftwood experience — we can’t wait to host you!

HOUSE RULES
Quiet hours - 9pm - 8am - this is strictly enforced in Summerland
No parties, events or smoking allowed
Pets - please clean up after your furry friends and we kindly ask no pets on the furniture, dog beds are available inside :) Failure to comply will result in additional charges.
Trash Day is Friday mornings and Gardeners come by every other Friday in the mornings

Host especially helpful in getting in and responding (quickly) to questions. After that we did not contact him until the day before we left clarifying what we needed to do to check out. Turns out turn off the lights and start the dishwasher. It doesn't get any easier than that. Our family fully enjoyed the home, location, jacuzzi, layout of home and its quirkiness. Thank you!

Even though there was record breaking rain we had a great stay. We had a place for everyone and the kitchen was wonderful. We really appreciated it being pet friendly. The house was quirky, just the way I like it! Thanks Aidan for being such a great host. Quick to respond to all my questions.

We only stayed a couple hours. The cleaning product smell was intense. The windows didn’t lock, the floors were slanted, one of the fire places was sinking, hot tub had dirt on the bottom. In addition, the mattress and pillows were stained and uninhabitable in addition the rugs had big stains. I would pull this listing!

Bachelorette party

Great place! Aidan was very responsive and so helpful throughout the entire trip. The place was much bigger than we were expecting which was good. The parking fits more like 2-3 cars rather than 4 as advertised. There was room for our group of 9 to hang out and be together comfortably. The house is a bit old but it worked well for our group. The rooms were a bit hot at night but nothing terrible. Great view of the ocean and in a quiet part of town! We enjoyed our stay a lot!

Great spot

Place is bigger than it looks. Beds and couch were comfy! Aidan was nice enough to allow me to have someone come in to decorate beforehand, Since we were celebrating a bachelorette. Would definitely recommend! Thank you for everything!

3 Generation family stay

We loved the property, and all our interactions with host Aiden were excellent. There were a couple of issues which if fixed could have made the stay perfect, and I'm sure Aiden will have addressed them when we left. A truly delightful property!

Family fun

Good times were had at this Summerland house! We were a group of 7, aged 27-65. The house accommodated us easily. The location was great- minutes to Montecito and downtown/waterfront Santa Barbara. If you go on a weekend, the Santa Barbara farmer’s market (downtown) is a MUST. Aiden was responsive. Our only slight disappointment was the weather. Had it been a bit warmer, we would have been able to enjoy the yard and views more.

Nice views in Summerland

Overall we liked the property. Quintessential California home. Views were nice from the yard but the best views are in upstairs bedroom that is accessed outside the house. As a family with children, we didn’t love this feature. We also brought our dog and the pictures looked as though it was fully fenced. It is not. Something to note if you were hoping to let your dog off leash. There is no a/c and there were no fans so we got hot at night. But the location is great, the house had all the amenities and we would stay there again.

Wonderful stay in Summerland

Lovely at sunrise or at night under the stars, the hot tub had views of the ocean and distant Santa Barbara. Great yard with deck. Perfect place for watching the sun set over the ocean. We were a family traveling for a wedding at the Rincon Beach Club which is just and easy 3 miles away, so the location was ideal! We were three married couples and two single ladies and were all comfortably accommodated. Check in/out was easy. Communication with host excellent. We had everything we needed and the place is even equipped for the beach!
