Wow! Just wow! We stayed here for the weekend with our kids as a last hurrah before school went back.
We were instantly impressed on entry and the staff were so welcoming. We even had a staff member who saw us wandering around and looking at the hotel, stop us,welcome us and fill us in on the history of the hotel. The staff overall were wonderful from front of house to back of house.
Our rooms were beautiful. We loved the bath and our middle aged bodies appreciated the pillow menu and comfy bed. We were missing a few housekeeping things, but not a big deal.
The gym was one of the best I’ve ever trained in with new, state of the art equipment.
The food here was also brilliant. The buffet breakfast is one of the best we’ve had in our many stays. We also had a theatre menu prior to our show. It was fantastic and well priced for 3 courses. The bar was also a chilled mood affair with great options for dining or just a drink.
My only criticism was the check in. The staff member that served us was not at all friendly and communicative. We had two rooms that needed to be checked in and there seemed to be a lack of communication of what needed to be done here, so there was confusion. In the end, I was passed onto a colleague to finish the process but it was 15 minutes by the end. But that was my only negative.
All in all, this hotel is up there as one of our favourites, and that’s our kids (who are critical) opinion. We wished we could stay longer!
