â5 stars are not enough for the George and Dragon - the absolute best care and hospitality can be found here! Such a gem in a beautiful village with so much history. All the staff were so kind and accommodating, and the food was delicious and generous portions. Only place open for dinner in the evening so be sure to reserve! Highly highly recommend. â
âThe pub is situated in peaceful countryside and is in a great location.
The proprietors were so welcoming and kind, helping me to my room with my luggage. My room was comfortable, nicely decorated and the bathroom clean with nice toiletries.
The food in the pub was good, and the service was friendly and efficient.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and would certainly stay there again if Iâm in the area.â

âFor a first trip by myself definitely felt safe and comfortable. Staff were amazing, so friendly there was always a good atmosphere. Spacious and clean room and bathroom. No parking but two carparks in walking distance can top up on a morning. Option to come and go from side gate so can avoid being in the way when pub is busy.

âGreat stay for two night break on the coast to Coast trail. Staff was friendly and helpful. Friday nights are very loud with karaoke so be prepared! Food was good, but basic pub food. Breakfast had several choices and the avocado and poached egg was especially good. There's an awesome Indian restaurant called the mango tree just a few buildings down. Laundromat behind the Black Bull hotel which was very convenient. About 6 pounds to run the washer and one or two for the dryer. There's a tourist...

"The location is a perfect ten, but the staff was far from good. First of all, it took us 1.5 hours to check in, and we didnât sense any effort to speed up the process. There was a complete lack of willingness from the staff to make our experience enjoyable.
Our room was also dirty, which unfortunately aligned with the poor check-in experience.
The Tan Hill has the potential to be amazing. It has everything going for itâexcept the staff, who failed to make our stay pleasant."
