âThis is a lovely new hotel in Kathmandu. Spotless rooms and attractively maintained exterior and interior. Nothing to complain about and only good things to say. When the power went out several times, as it is prone to do occasionally in Kathmandu, the generator kicked in immediately. Heater worked well, for the cool nights. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Food at breakfast and dinner was great. So was the coffee. I will stay here again.â

My host Shekhar and his family invited me for breakfast and dinner daily and since I traveled by myself I could learn about Nepal and local culture. Shekhar and his daughter took me around Katmandu to learn about history and tempels. I can give best recommendations for his resort for anyone who look for a less busy place then the crowded center of Katmanduâ

About 7 minutes walk from Orchid is a taxi stand and from there you can reach all places in Kathmandu. Every morning enjoy of a wonderful breakfast of eggs, freshly baked pastries and fruit. âWe had a good experience from checkin to departure. The staff were friendly and very helpful but didn't hover over us. Our spacious room, the restaurant and the facilities in general are well maintained, pleasantly decorated and clean. Hot water for a shower was plentiful. This hotel obviously has a history in the area and the owner/manager take pride in providing a quality experience for guests.There is another excellent restaurant right next door. âWonderful stay at the hotel. It was perfect location in a quieter area but still close to main road where can get transport easily to move around. Many lovely restaurants and cafe in area and safe to walk around with less traffic also by hotel. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. I enjoyed my stay and will come back again. â
