"Genuinely friendly welcome and a very comfortable, clean room - all of which I needed after a long, hard day on the Pennine Way. Arrived too late to eat in the evening but breakfast was terrific. Would thoroughly recommend the Alma."

"Nice hotel at a reasonable price. Large rooms and bathroom. Bedding & towels were good quality though the pillows were really hard & uncomfortable. Decor is ok but could do with a refresh. The bed must be changed

"The low rating is entirely due to the extremely uncomfortable bed. It was very soft and "wobbly," and I did not get much sleep over two nights. Otherwise, the place was okay, given the price. One positive was the access to a fully equipped kitchen."
