“The stay at the cottage was good. It is positioned on a busy road but it quiets down later at night. There is a shop at the petrol station that has everything you will need for the stay and close to bus tops to take to Ambleside and Windermere. The beds are on the soft side but not uncomfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped but he had to buy paper kitchen towels, bin bags and dishwasher tablets. All in all, our stay was great. We would stay here again. ”

“Very pleasant small property. 5 mins walk from central Ambleside. Well equipped and warm. Perhaps a bit small for a family of 4 but great for two people. Nicely decorated with thoughtful touches. Only one parking space but a car park 4 mins walk down the hill. Would recommend.”

“Nicely appointed cottage that had everything you could need.Plenty of internal space, outside rooftop patio and hidden garden area.No wifi signal, and poor mobile phone signal added to the seclusion - away from the real world. Very rural, transport necessary to get anywhere.”

“Overall we had a lovely time in Ambleside, the house itself was a bit grubby could do with a thorough clean, it said onsite parking on Expedia there is no parking it wasn’t a problem we parked in the village and paid £8 a day but shouldn’t be wrongly advertised, we tried to contact the property owners a couple of times about parking and the rubbish collection but still waiting for a reply, it is a lovely little house in a good location.”

“Great location and everything in apartment that was required. Kettle was broken on arrival but replaced right away that same day so great service from the company.Apartment just a bit tired and needs a wee freshen up. Mattress was badly stained and to be honest a bit of a clean would not go amiss as very off putting to sleep in.. overall the apartment was great and the location. This is our second time here and will be back but hoping mattress is cleaned by then.”

“This was our 3rd stay at Fairbank and we book it purely for the location: love the ease of access to the town centre, yet there's a feeling of being in the countryside due to the quiet lane and view of the river and park. The house is absolutely fine: the bed is comfy, it's warm and has a little suntrap of a garden at the back. If I were to suggest improvements it would be: provide a long length mirror and a large pot for cooking. We'll definitely be back!!!”
