Unik period stuga i Dublin 4 docklands

Renoverad period stuga med tyst, bekväm och mysig inredning. Beläget i Dublin Docklands där jättearbetande kranar dominerar det marina landskapet. Stugan har restaurerats med expert arkitektonisk rådgivning och utförd av skickliga Dublin-hantverkare. Det är inrett med original viktorianska bitar. Det ligger nära Great South Wall, en av de finaste marina promenaderna på östkusten och Sandymount strand som har funktioner i Joyce's 'Ulysses'.
Stugan har ett område på 900 kvadratmeter. Det finns två dubbelrum på första våningen. Bottenvåningen har ett kombinerat vardagsrum / matsal med öppen spis, originalhällsgräsmatta och en vacker viktoriansk glasfasad bokhylla fylld med irländsk och internationell litteratur ett diskret Bose-ljudsystem och en TV. Ingångshallen och badrummet har mosaikplattor. Det finns ett nytt kök i fastigheten.

Interessantes Haus mit guter Ausstattung

Im Vorfeld wurde alles gut beschrieben und den Schlüssel konnten wir der Schlüsselbox entnehmen. Das Haus war sauber, abgesehen von der vollen Geschirrspülmaschine mit verschmutztem Geschirr. Das kann passieren und beeinflusst unsere Bewertung nicht. Die Fenster halten die Außengeräusche vom ab und zu betriebenen Containerverladeplatz gut ab. Auf der Straße vor dem Haus gibt es fast keinen Verkehr. Ins Zentrum sind es ca. 4km, die wir gelaufen sind. ÖPNV gibt es in der Nähe. Parkplatz im Innenhof konnten wir auch mit unseren California T6.1 nutzen.

Geschmackvoll eingerichtet und doch leider nicht wie erwartet: nicht sehr sauber, überraschend industrielle Lage. Leider nur zwei Sessel und daher ungemütlich für mehr Personen. Keine Steckdosen im Bad, kein Kleiderschrank, um Kleider aufzuhängen. Drucker und Pool in Beschreibung, aber nicht vorhanden - es gab nur ein paar Tage einen aufblasbarer Kinderpool. Vermieter antwortete schnell - aber nicht auf Fragen nach Drucker und Pool. Das Verhältnis von Preis und Leistung für uns absolut nicht stimmig, leider zu teuer für das Gesamterlebnis - wir hatten in London eine tollere und günstigere Unterkunft. Daher leider die erste Enttäuschung mit Vrbo / Fewo-Direkt in vielen Jahren.

We had trouble finding the appartment on first go. My navigators (wife and 2 daughters )were yelling directions because my ears were plugged from flight. There are 2 Pigion House Roads separated by a toll roadIf you do not put 74 in the directions it will bring you to the other Pigeon House Rd.Once we got that straight the accomadation were what we needed. Taxis came within 5 mins of putting in order.

The Surprising Pleasure of Staying Next to a Dockyard

The cottage is attractively renovated and cosy. William, the host, was very communicative and helpful before our stay (we needed to add another day, but the cottage was already booked for that day, so William found a nearby hotel with availability for us). Useful things for guests to know: 1) Uber/taxi drivers may have a hard time finding the address. It helps to tell the driver that it's around the corner from Deeke's Diner and facing one side of the dockyards; 2) Ask William to check the inventory of necessities (we had to immediately go out and buy toilet paper); 3) the narrow stairs may present a challenge to anyone with impaired mobility, so be aware of that issue; 4) despite being right next to an active dockyards, it's a quiet location and it was fascinating to watch the freight loading activities; 5) the cottage is in an out-of-the way corner of the city but is only a 6 minute walk to the bus stop. We used the bus to travel into the city regularly; and 6) we highly recommend Khushee, a wonderful Indian restaurant in Sandymount.

Place was okay for 2 people but there was 4 of us with no place to sit for 2 people. Beds said queen very small queens. Location was not easy access to downtown- previous comments were Uber was inexpensive- not true each Uber ranged from 25 to 35 one way. Could have used the train but 15 walk in pouring rain. Password provided for wifi was not correct. Ended up calling owner said the system had just been changed he wasn’t sure of the new one. Finally figured it out on our own. Backyard was overgrown not usable on the nice day we had while there. Would be a great place for a couple that wanted to close themselves off for a few days but not for more than 2 people who wanted to see the sites. Toll bridge fee a couple of times with Uber and taxi. No garbage cans/bags anywhere? None in the bathroom or kitchen. Bathroom had 2 small towel racks for hand towels but nothing for bath towels-no bathroom cabinets for toothbrush shampoo etc…so you had to carry everything up to your room. Just okay not a Wow I was expecting

Cute cottage

The cottage is very cute and well renovated. Despite this there are a few niggles I'm afraid! It is right alongside the docks so can be pretty noisy with the cranes going at all hours - ok if you're sleeping in the back room or a heavy sleeper but worth being aware of this if you're not!There are only 2 easy chairs in the lounge area - it's a shame there's a second table instead of more comfy seating as city breaks are so tiring. We had to take turns in sitting comfortably which nobody really wants! I've given three stars for cleanliness as I'm afraid the bathroom fell short of our expectations in this respect. There was a constant sewerage smell which wasn't very pleasant. There was no bin and the soap provided was a grubby hard coal tar soap already used by previous guests to wash goodness knows where - most unhygienic :( It would have been nice and cost hardly anything if the owner had left some milk and teabags. After walking with our luggage from the tram to the house we were desperate for a cuppa but were left very disappointed - with the nearest shop is quite a walk away we just couldn't bring ourselves to turn out again! All in all our stay was pleasant enough but could have been a five star one with some thought for the guest experience.

Lovely rental, had everything you would need except the wifi was down the entire time we were there which was disappointing, forcing us to use data etc to stay in touch with family and friends back in Canada. Owner was very apologetic and easily contacted.

Charmant mais bruyant

Draps sales, serviettes des anciens locataires encore presentes. Habits sales sur la machine.Bruit des containers incessants toute la nuit dans une des chambres. Tres proche du port.Logement et equipement corrects avec un certain charme.Assez loin des transports en commun.Pour 266 par nuit nous nous attendions a plus de proprete et de tranquillité

le logement est correct, mais il nous a fallu 1 heure pour trouver l'entrée du cottage, celui-ci se trouve dans une cour et il n'y a aucune indication de numéros lorsque vous êtes dans la rue, nous avons payé 50 % plus cher de taxi car il ne trouvais pas le cottage, malgré un appel du chauffeur de taxi au propriétaire pendant 15 minutes. Le four était sale et le coin jardin n'était pas nettoyer. Le cottage se trouve a proximité du port d'où une nuisance sonore la nuit lors des déchargement des contenaires et pas de volet aux fenêtres qui pourrais empêcher ces nuisances. Si non , très belle décoration dans le cottage, très typique irlandais.Cordialemnt

A Step Back in Time with Modern Amenities

We arrived at this charming and quaint cottage after a long flight. Billy, the host, was kind, accommodating and communicated via the messaging app. He gave clear and detailed instructions about the appliances and features in the home, and gave and helpful hints about transit and restaurants and pubs nearby. The cottage itself was so cool! I loved the variety of books on the bookshelf and the decor was eclectic and calming. The beds were comfortable as was the cottage. The location is excellent, close to buses and within walking distance to the city centre. The stairs were steep, which is something to keep in mind if travelling with older folks/people with mobility issues. We had trouble figuring out the shower, but that was likely operator error. I’m thankful this is the first place we stayed on our trip; it set the tone for a marvellous adventure.

Maison meublée avec goût, ambiance cottage à l’ancienne, original et atypique. Boîte à clé permet une arrivée flexible. Ménage insatisfaisant : serviettes mouillées dans le lave linge, poubelle mal nettoyée, pas de sac poubelle remis. Dans la salle de bain, pas de savon dans la baignoire. Pas de sèche cheveux. Manque de confort : un des lits doubles est plus étroit que la moyenne, non précisé dans l’annonce. La communication a pu se faire mais manque d’accueil et de réactivité.Quartier éloigné des transports mais 2 cartes de transport à disposition bien appréciables. Ambiance dock industriel.

Wonderful place

We absolutely loved this place. It's very charming and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped. Beds were very comfortable.The location is interesting. It's about a 15-minute pleasant walk to the nearest shops, which wasn't a problem for us. Even though it's across the road from a large active shipping port, noise was never a problem at all. The neighbors were quiet as well. It was a nice haven after busy days exploring the city.The next time we visit Dublin we'll definitely try to stay here. In an ideal world I'd take an extra few weeks to explore Billy's remarkable library.

Cute, Quiet spot on a Busy Weekend

I stayed in this lovely cottage on St. Paddy's Weekend with three other friends. During such a busy time, this place was tucked away in a quiet neighborhood which was a nice break at times. The host was very communicative and helpful beforehand and during our stay which we appreciated! Overall, if you're looking for a great option on a busy weekend, I would highly recommend it!

Close to centre and comfortable

We really enjoyed our stay here. I like the quiet location, but yet close enough to the city centre that we could walk. We'd walk to the Dockland shop area for breakfast, then continue walking into the city centre for our destinations. We also found it to be a safe location. Maybe all of Dublin is, but even the neighbors reassured us. The house itself was perfect, nice bedrooms, and living space. No couch, and tiny TV, but we didn't come to Dublin for that :) Also, the garden was not in bloom, so the photo shows differently than online. I'd still stay here again, having parking in Dublin so we could take day trips further out was easy.

Warm, cozy stay

Wonderful cottage within walking distance to the park, pubs and restaurants. The bus stop is just a few minutes' walk to catch the bus into Dublin City. The cozy fireplace was perfect for a relaxing nightcap. Highly recommend this place!

Great little bungalow on the coast of Dublin

We stayed at this property for 3 nights. The host was responsive to messages and allowed us to check in early, which was very gracious. He said he had communicated with housekeepers and it was ready to go. Upon arrival, there was a pile of laundry in the entrance and the beds were stripped of sheets. We chalked this up to miscommunication and the price of checking in early, no problem. The only other issue was we were only given 2 rolls of toilet paper for 3 days, so we had to buy some. However, these issues were small and not a big deal. Overall, the accommodations were lovely and cozy. We so enjoyed sitting by the fireplace and the coastal location. The house was filled with lots of neat art and more books than you could ever ask for. It was clean and well kept. A great stay overall!
