"What an incredible way to start our month-long Florida vacation!
Traveling from Sweden, we were deciding between Miami and several other coastal cities for the first stop of our trip. In the end, we chose Fort Lauderdale largely because of Pier Sixty-Six—its history, recent transformation, and iconic reputation. It exceeded every expectation.
The hotel itself is stunning. The billion-dollar investment is evident everywhere, from the architecture and landscaping to the overall attention to detail. The location is unbeatable, right on the marina surrounded by spectacular mega yachts and beautiful waterfront views.
Our room was modern, comfortable, and beautifully designed. We were four people sharing a two-queen room and never felt cramped. And the toilet… those who know, know! It was unexpectedly a huge hit with our kids.
The pool area is absolutely fantastic, and so is the staff. During our stay we experienced a classic Florida thunderstorm with heavy rain, lightning, and the pool temporarily closing for safety. As soon as regulations allowed, it reopened—and we got to enjoy a memorable night swim under the warm Florida sky.
As Swedes, we’re not particularly used to the American tipping culture, and it can feel a little unfamiliar. But at Pier Sixty-Six, the exceptional service made it feel completely natural. The team genuinely made us feel welcome and helped us switch into vacation mode from the moment we arrived.
