Great Location & Cozy Accomodations

Our family really enjoyed our stay in this house. The host was wonderful and helped us with anything we needed. The location was quiet and peaceful, and we enjoyed the proximity to so many local attractions.

Sapphire Mountain House

The house was very nice, esp upstairs. Bathrooms/rugs could have been cleaner. Mini-splits didn’t operate well at all. Downstairs linens not well stocked and bed uncomfortable.

Great vacation

The host responded promptly the house very clean. The driveway was not as deep as other places we have stayed in. It was actually very nice and we got to see a bear within the first hour of us arriving there.

Could use some TLC

Pros: access to the resort amenities ($25 per amenity card per week-we got 1 for me and 1 for my husband-or $5/day), as the pools, arcade and mini golf were enjoyable, as was the beach and fairfield lake. The bathrooms in the house appear to have been updated at some point. The upstairs deck is nice enough during the day. Cons: The house could use some TLC. No curtains on the sliding glass doors in the downstairs room with the bunk beds. The kitchen and its appliances are old. The dryer stopped working mid-cycle on first use. The host offered to send a tech but this was our vacation and we weren't available to wait for one to show up. Also, VRBO will charge you a nonrefundable service fee and the company that manages the property, Evolve, will charge you a nonrefundable "Damage Protection" fee to book the house. We might consider returning to this resort community for the amenities mentioned but to stay in a lakeside home or villa.

Wonderful, cozy mountain get-away

The home is lovely and perfect for families, especially for someone with mobility issues. The first-floor master makes things very easy! The home is close to area amenities and activities. The bunk room downstairs makes it possible to have a few kiddos sleep comfortably. Alfredo was a terrific host - even left us an Ingles card so we could get a discount. We would definitely stay again!!

Best ever

This home was a pleasant surprise, nestled in the mountains and private. The beds and furniture were super comfortable. There were a few minor issues while we were there, Alfredo was quick to help and give us info. We enjoyed using the amenities and fishing. Would definitely stay again! We were blessed with the sighting of a white squirrel!

Snowy bliss

Exceptional visit! The host is hands down he best with communication. Check in and out are so easy and the house is better than the picture and description. We will be back here! Great setting, layout and close to everything. You seriously don't need to be closer. if you are thinking it is too far away from Sapphire Valley resort you are wrong...You actually feel like you are in the mountains. Great home!

Loved it!

I took my girls and friends for a long weekend over New Years. The first day it was raining so we had a nice day of relaxing playing games and hanging out. We ventured out some too. The location was close to the Sapphire Valley resort to play games such as putt putt and arcade plus we all went snow tubing the second day. Highly recommend! We also went out to explore and hiked to a beautiful fall called Rainbow Falls. We definitely will be back!!

Everything in the description is correct with the rental, time spent with family/nature is priceless

The time in Sapphire, Cashiers, Highlands is always special. Having been coming to the area for my entire life it holds a special place for me. The rental is another great memory. Property is clean, well kept, and what you would think of as a mountain house/cabin. The whole process was easy to and would highly recommend.

Holiday Weekend at the Forest House

Thank you so much for opening your home to us. It was lovely spending a few days in your 'forest house'. We had such a good time. Your home was so cozy, and bedrooms supremely comfortable. Also, the master bathroom, with the jetted bathtub provided a calm amd relaxing time. My family also spent time out on the beautiful deck and enjoyed the spectacular view. Your warm hospitality made our stay a pleasure. Thank you for the recommendations on activities. We ended up at whitewater falls, but mostly stayed in and enjoyed some of the boardgames provided. We also got to see a black bear walk across the front of the house. My kids were amazed! : ) I definitely appreciate you making contact the day of check in and providing such detailed instructions. A Wonderful Stay in the Mountains

My partner, myself, and two friends all came up to Cashiers for my best friend’s wedding. We found this property listed on VRBO and really like it based on the spacious living area, available beds, and modern upgrades in the home (such as the bathrooms). It was a very comfortable experience and was a great deal for the price. I’d highly recommend this property for anyone having a weekend getaway, destination wedding, etc. Thanks for hosting me and my friends!

Well appointed cabin close to town

We come up to North Carolina every summer for our family vacation and this year we chose the Cashiers/Sapphire area for our stay. We were so pleased with our choice to rent this cabin which was perfect for our family. The split level design allowed my husband and I our own space on the main floor of the cabin while our adult daughter had the downstairs bedroom with queen sized bed and full bathroom to herself. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, pots, pans, glassware, and a wide assortment of appliances including a juicer! The deck was large and comfortable and we enjoyed breakfast and late afternoon cocktails out on the patio overlooking the forest. The only disappointment was that the bistro lights that are hung over the patio are solar powered and did not light up in the evening to give any light to that space. Had the lights been working, we definitely would have spent more time outside at night. The location of the home is AMAZING! It took us 5 minutes to get to the local Ingles market for groceries and it was a 10 minute drive to Cashiers for shopping and the farmers market. The only thing to mention that we did not see in the VRBO listing about the house, which being Floridians who are used to driving on flat land, is that the house although not far up the mountain, does have some fairly twisting roads that are not lit up at night leading up to it. It only takes about 5 minutes of driving up these roads to get to the house, so we just made it a point to return to the house before it got dark. Our hosts had some very nice touches at the house such as extra throw blankets around to relax with, a variety of board games to choose from and a dart set out on the patio which we enjoyed using during our stay. We would definitely recommend this cabin for your next stay in Sapphire.

great home in Sapphire

My family and I loved this home. It had plenty of room for us (family of 4) to spread out and a very private feel. the home is about 15-20 minutes from Cashiers and about 10 minutes from the amenities at Sapphire resort. The property manager was very quick to respond when a question came up but was not needed much as the house was ready as described. I would definitely stay here again.

Clean and Convenient Property

The home was very nice and clean. I was by myself on a golf trip so I didn’t need much. The kitchen was equipped with everything as far as cookware and such. The communication with the property manager was the incredible. I would absolutely stay again and recommend to others.

This place is wonderful! Just book it! You won’t be disappointed!

Honestly I was just looking for a weekend away from my family with a few friends and having a hotel would have been fine with me, however this air b&b was a dream, it was so close the to the ski resort and really just everything fun to do in the area and neighboring towns. The place was clean, spotless really and HUGE! I was not expecting it to be as big as it was. Everything you could need to make any meal was in the kitchen. I would 10000000% book again. Oh and I slept great! If you’re looking for a place to get away with friends or family this place is it, it is absolutely beautiful and so quiet and peaceful! And the property manager was as sweet as could be, you seriously can’t go wrong booking this place for any type of getaway!

Beautiful Home

We had an amazing stay at this house in sapphire- the entire house was clean and had a ton of room. Our stay was only for a quick weekend at the local ski resort. The house had all the supplies in the kitchen and the rooms were exceptionally clean. My only complaint would be the heating (it was extremely cold) however that’s most user error as we didn’t know how to change the temperature and didn’t reach out to the manager about it at the time. Overall a great stay- well definitely be back again and this time we’ll get instructions o. The heating system lol.

Wonderful place to relax with great scenery

This was a great stay. We really enjoyed the property. It was clean and well kept. The communication with the owner was excellent. We had a little trouble getting in at first because the keypad batteries seemed to be running out. The owner got back to me asap and gave us alternate instructions that worked great. There was plenty of everything for our family of 6, lots of blankets and pillows, plates, mugs, etc. My favorite spot was sitting by the bay window just looking out the window. A great spot to curl up with a cup of your favorite beverage and a book. We would recommend and would love to come back in the future!

Amazing weekend at the forest house

The forest house was absolutely perfect for our getaway! The upstairs was so beautiful. The view was so gorgeous. We loved sitting on the porch having lunch. The updates to the property were amazing. The downstairs was so cozy and quite. Alfredo was easy to get in touch with and really helped the check in and check our process. We would definitely return!
