The location of the property was excellent, with several London Underground stations within a mile, several bus stops round the corner, and a couple of Tesco Express shops 5 - 10 minutes' walk away.
The property was advertised as having a front desk for check-in, and this is not the case. We arrived to no check-in desk with no way of accessing the property. We ended up using the buzzer to call the other flats in the building (there are 6), and thankfully someone was in and they gave us the phone number for the owner so I could call them. At this point, the owner provided the codes needed to access the building and the flat.
I had booked the flat for 2 people but had filtered on two beds. I booked it because there was a double bed and a sofabed, but when we got into the room only the double bed was set up and there was no bedding for the sofabed. We ended up sharing the double bed as it would have been too cold and uncomfortable for one of us to sleep on the sofabed.
The apartment itself was safe, clean, and pleasant, but the communication was poor and our experience at arrival was stressful because we had no information about how to get in. The description needs to be updated on Expedia and the owner needs to actively manage the bookings through Expedia, communicating the access codes in advance and checking the bed requirements of the guests. On the basis that my experience would be the same again if I booked this apartment, I would not book again.
