âThe views from the hilltop were spectacular and we loved sitting outside with our delicious breakfast. Our accommodation was spacious and comfortable and as the final days of our trip this was a perfect wind down. I would love to go back for longerâ

âStunning property in a newly restored old house. Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed room. The common areas were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony. The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. Canât recommend highly enough. â

"The hotel was okay, but the cleanliness was really disappointing.
Even on the first day when we arrived, the bed and blanket were dirty, and the towels had stains on them.
Honestly, the only good thing was the view from the balcony â it was beautiful.
But everything else was just average, and in my opinion, I wouldnât come back there again."
"We stayed at the resort for 10 days and overall had a good stay â but itâs not a 5-star resort. The place feels quite run-down, especially the rooms, which havenât been renovated in many years.
Pros:
- Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Beautiful and well-maintained surroundings.
- We were quickly offered a new room when we asked. Highly recommend choosing one with a sea view â others can have a very dull view.
- Thereâs a cozy little backyard area behind Rodius where you can enjoy a drink in the evening. Sadly, itâs often empty since itâs far from the main restaurant.
- For the price per night, comparing to many other resort, it is priceworthy.
Cons:
- The lifeguards are overly strict. I made a small dive in the pool and was immediately whistled at â very uncomfortable. I wasnât the only one who noticed; several guests felt the same.
- The rooms and parts of the hotel feel outdated and in need of renovation.
- Half board only includes the main buffet restaurant. Although the buffet is pretty good for being a buffet.
Tips:
- Rent a car if you want to explore! Avoid Hersonissos â we recommend Piskopiano instead. If youâre traveling with kids, visit Acqua Water Park (5 mins away). For a great beach nearby, go to Potamos.
Summary:

Vi hade ett rum pÄ plan 1 vilket Àr 2 trappor upp frÄn markplan/receptionen.
Rummet var lagom stort, men badrummet hade kunnat vara lite större dÄ handfatet var placerat utanför badrummet. VÀggarna var ganska tunna vilket gjorde att man hörde vÀl nÀr nÄgon pratade i korridoren utanför. Förutom det hade vi en vÀldigt bra vistelse pÄ hotellet. Allt var rent och frÀscht inne pÄ rummet.
Frukosten pÄ morgonen var fantastisk med det mesta man kan tÀnka sig till en frukost. Allting var frÀscht och gott! Takterrassen och poolen var i toppskick ocksÄ."
