Directly accross the street from the VRBO called Mercato Trionfale. We visited it 4 times during our stay. It is the largest fresh market for chesses, meats, seafood, pasta, vegetables, probably in the world. You can buy items to take back to the VRBO and also find places to eat already cooked food Do not miss it.The area is quiet and safe located off the tourists track in a Roman neighborhood. A delicous and reasonably priced osteria located within a 2 minute walk just around the corner is VostrOsteria. Save room for the homemade gelato made to order at your table.Francesca makes check in easy sending you all of the information ahead of time. Although we never met her in person, she is very friendly and helpful calling several times to make sure everything was going well. The only problem we had was the slow washing machine. It is a combo washer-dryer. It takes hours to complete a load. It may have been operator error... The VRBO is very clean and an extra plus in the large refrigerator - freezer. If you wake up in the night and walk out of your room you do not need to look for a light switch as hallway lights automatically turn on lighting your way. We had several Roman cousins over 2x for dinner. The kitchen is easy to cook in and the dining room take is large. Last, the showers are the biggest any of us have seen in Rome or even our own homes.
