My host Shekhar and his family invited me for breakfast and dinner daily and since I traveled by myself I could learn about Nepal and local culture. Shekhar and his daughter took me around Katmandu to learn about history and tempels. I can give best recommendations for his resort for anyone who look for a less busy place then the crowded center of Katmanduâ

Rooms are comfortable, quiet, and the ones in the front have a wonderful view of the pond, with the mountains as the background. â
âThis beautiful boutique hotel offers traditional Newari charm in the heart of Lalipur, just a short walk to Patan Darbar Square. The reception staff were friendly and super helpful and the room just full of character. Loved it.
Breakfast is served offsite with a limited selection but does the job. Characterful, welcoming and convenient. I would happily stay here again. â

âFirst time in Kathmandu, picked this for it's fabulous location in a vibrant artsy neighborhood near Patan Darbur Square as a friend was staying nearby. I am so very happy I picked this place. Wonderful historic place with a wing added that is more modern but in keeping with the original architecture, the room I booked was in the new section so the ceilings are high and the windows face over the courtyard to the original part of the hotel.
