Great location

We had such a great time staying here. The property is very unique and large. We had a group of 9 and we all had plenty of personal space. The staff is the finishing touch on this beautiful property. Their hospitality is so welcoming. If you are looking to be spoiled in paradise then this is the place for you!

Unreal property with even better staff
We had a group of three families (6 adults and 7 kids, all ages 6 and younger). Every moment we stayed at Casa Salamandra was a dream. The house is beautiful and maximizes its ocean front views at every opportunity. The pool and beach provide every type of water refuge you could desire. However, the onsite staff of Gilberto, Brenda and Chelli made this a truly unforgettable stay. Their attentiveness, incredible cooking and their willingness to go above and beyond in making sure we were taking care of is the best. They were wonderful with the kids and such a pleasure to be around. We are counting down the days until we can return!

Villa Salamandra March 2024
My family and a group of our friends stayed at Villa Salamandra from March 26 to the 29th (there were 8 adults and 6 kids ranging in age from 14-10). It was an amazing experience. The house is very cool with a main living area that is open air/outdoor based with bedrooms that surround the main living area (you have to walk outdoors to get to them). This was a great set up as it gave us a common space to gather while still providing privacy for the individual families in our group. The house has a great pool that we all really enjoyed. The location is amazing. Great spot with the best beach in the Puerto Vallarta area steps from your house. The staff was also top notch. Gilberto and company were awesome to work with. Check in process was super easy and they made us feel at home the entire time. The food they prepared was great with plenty of options provided for some of the the pickier members of our group. The communication with Marcelo prior to the trip was very good with him always quick to respond to any questions that we had. I really can't say enough great things about our stay. We all loved it and hope to be back as soon as possible. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a place to gather with friends and family in an amazing setting. Thanks for hosting us.

Luxury Girls Trip
Our stay was Epic! Communications with host before and during trip was stellar. Upon arrival to this beautiful oceanfront villa we were greeted by the best butler, Gilberto! The view was breathtaking and whales were breaching in the ocean right in front of our stay. Epic views from all 5 bedrooms. Some of the hardware…bathroom door knobs, glass door slider locks were broken…could be maintained better but the place is so beautiful and the staff was so awesome we didn’t care some of the villa was a little worn down. The food prepped by the cook was so delicious and Gilberto’s beverage service was top notch! Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and the showers had great water pressure. The beach in front of the villa is now my favorite beach! I miss the pool and the view so much. Thank you Marcello, Gilberto, Chelle, Brenda, and Enrique for an epic experience.

Family Fun
Gilberto couldn’t have been better. Always there to help and treated us like Royalty. Food they made for us was fantastic.Location of house was the very best !Very clean and felt safe, The house is really something else , we all had our own space and was quiet . The property is older and starting to show a little wear. Only improvement I could suggest would be more comfy mattresses. Keeping that in mind would we go back …. Yes in a minute.

The thing with the beds is that everyone has different tastes, and we have found that having firm mattresses is the least divisive option. But we could certainly procure some foamy bed toppers to make them feel softer! We would love to have you back at the house in the future.

Fantastic Holiday
We had a wonderful family reunion at the beautiful Villa Salamandra .The Location, view and beach of the Villa is amazing. We all enjoyed the views from our rooms and the pool was used daily . Gilberto was a fantastic host who shopped for us , served our food and made us delicious drinks . He looked after us from 7:00 am till 11:00 pm. He helped us booking excursion’s, taxies , shopping for good “tequila “. He is a great host. He loves his job and it is very evident Araceli and Brenda made delicious Mexican food and cleaned our rooms daily. We all want to thankGilberto for all his help in making our week holiday a beautiful experience . We would love to come back again . Ford Family Nanaimo Reunion2023

Family Spring Break
Have to begin with the world class staff-Gilberto-Araceli-Brenda & Enrique.Their kindness and hospitality and the incredible food and service made our stay remarkable and memorable.Spectacular property - breathtaking setting and views- great beach access. However, time has not been kind to the structure and could absolutely use some updating and TLC. If you can overlook the obvious deferred maintenance of the property you will enjoy your stay.

Fabulous week
My family had a wonderful week at the property. Gilberto and his staff were fantastic hosts of the property. The location was marvelous and even though the property is dated, the staff does a nice job of making you feel very welcome and keeps things clean, especially for being a beach house.

Outstanding service and location
The property is right on the best piece of beach in the area. It is spacious and confortable. Proximity to the ocean creates some maintenance challenges: though just painted, metal window frames, chandeliers, etc. are corroded. This did not negatively affect our stay in any way. Service provided by Gilberto, his wife Araceli, and Cielo, was way beyond expectations. Not only did Araceli cooked delicious meals to us, but Gilberto was always happy to take any requests my group came up with. The place is very safe, accessed through a gate and with security patrolling the house and the beach 24/7. Spectacular sunsets and some rich marine wildlife can be watched while having a meal or drink by the pool. Highly recommended for a big group unforgettable experience.

La casa es un desperdicio de terreno. Se cae de vieja. Las regaderas no tienen agua caliente. Las llaves de los lavabos están oxidadas y llenas de sarro. Los botones de los escusados igual. La canceleria esta picada y oxidada. La alberca verde y turbia. En toda la casa hay dos sombrillas, una de las cuales está rota. Todas las puertas de la casa están rotas o por romperse. Los muebles en general son de terrible calidad y viejos. La mitad de los focos de la casa entera están fundidos. Cuando llegamos nadie nos ayudó con las maletas. Se supone que tendrían las compras hechas a nuestra llegada, no compraron nada, cuando fuimos nosotros al super y regresamos buscamos al personal de la casa pero no apareció nadie y tuvimos que subir todo a la cocina nosotros. Los refrigeradores son viejos, pequeños y están peligrosamente calientes. Solo hay wifi en la sala central. Cobran extra por calentar la alberca, aceptamos el costo y no la calentaron, el servicio de la casa dice que no funciona la caldera. El encargado de antender a los ocupantes me dijo que tenía un proveedor de mariscos, le pregunte que que había muy fresco ese día para pedir, el dijo que almeja y camarón, cuando lo trajeron llegó congelado, mentira descarada. Lástima de lugar, el terreno es muy bueno. Nada que ver con casas del mismo rango de precio.

Beach Hideaway
Incredible location and an incredible property. Definitely a little 'beachy' and could use a few touch ups here and there but overall we loved our stay here and would stay here again. Marcelo is incredibly responsive and helpful as are his whole staff at the house. The meals every morning were fantastic and a great way to start the day.

Location location location
The house is located right on the beach with an awesome pool. It’s in a gated community and we felt really safe. The house is mostly outdoor living and has 5 bedrooms that you can lock at night. The house itself is pretty dated and some fixtures didn’t work, but it was really clean. We didn’t really care since the location made up for it and the house manager Gilberto and his wife Sally were amazing!!!!!! They were super sweet, helpful calling taxis, went grocery shopping for us, cooked our meals and even washed our dishes. The food she prepared was the best Mexican food I’ve ever had and those two made our trip so relaxing and enjoyable!! We over course tipped them :). Each room had air conditioning as well which is a must.

Magic in Mexico
The location of this property is spectacular. The “house” itself has not been maintained so some faucets are non-functional, no hot water to shower ( not an issue as it was quite warm), no toilet seat in bathroom in bunk room. Bed linens are old and fraying and towels were well used. BUT….we would go back in a heart beat! Gilberto, Shellie and their niece welcomed us with open arms. They prepared, served and cleaned up after amazing meals!! Always smiling and willing to do anything to make our stay the best! From celebrating birthdays with a piñata, to pina coladas by the pool, we were spoiled. Enrique was the night security and he patrolled giving us added sense of safety, although we never felt uneasy. Thank you Marcelo for opening up your home to us.

Beautiful house, AMAZING staff!
We had an incredible time here at this property. The staff were there 24/7 (even with a private security in the evenings) and could honestly get you anything you needed. Everyone was super kind and accommodating. The house was gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the the pool and private beach section were beyond what I expected and we had such an amazing time. Thank you!

Magical
I came back from this trip describing this trip as magical. I absolutely loved the house and the view was jaw dropping. Each morning had the most amazing sunrises. The house staff was amazing. They attended to all of our needs. Made amazing meals. We even caught fish that they made into ceviche, fillets, and burritos. So good! Kept everything really clean and it felt like a second home. Marcelo was also very responsive throughout. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic Family Vacation
Our family of 14 absolutely loved our week together at Villa Salamandra. Being right on the ocean was a major plus: walking on the beach, crashing waves, body boarding, building sand castles, dolphins swimming by every morning, and fantastic sunsets! Can’t say enough good things about the professional and friendly staff. The Villa was kept clean throughout the week, Rosa provided us with delicious meals, and Gilberto was always there anticipating and meeting our needs (from arranging transportation to making a pina colada and everything in between). Great family memories were created in abundance at Villa Salamandra!

Family vacation in Nuevo Vallarta
We stayed at Casa Salamandra from 12-26-19 to 1-2-20. Marcelo Mereles, the owner, was easy to communicate with, very responsive to our questions and very kind to us. His property was as described and was the best I have ever stayed at regarding location right on the beach of the Bay of Banderas in Nuevo Vallarta. Gilberto, who is the 24/7 on site concierge along with Shelly and Shaxeo provided us with 5 star service regarding meal preparation and service (whatever we wanted) as well as maintaining the living quarters and property and arranging transportation for a fishing trip and a trip to Las Caletas. These people made us feel very at home and treated us as a member of their family, always with a pleasant manner and smile on their faces. I highly recommend Casa Salamandra with no reservation!!

AMAZING CASA ON THE BEACH
There were 10 people in our group 4 grandkids, 4 parents, & 2 Grandparents. We came here to Celebrate Thanksgiving & Papa's 60th Bday. The accommodations were incredible, with 3 king size suites, & 2 very large extra bedrooms all rooms having there own bathroom, sitting area & closets! The whole property was above what I expected! Gilberto made sure that everything went smoothly! He grilled up some great meat & Mahi Mahi that we caught on our fishing trip! Anytime we needed something Gilberto was on top of it. Gilberto was very accommodating with our food Allergies , such as No peanut, dairy & gluten, & Gilberto understood exactly what we requested ( no one had any reactions), we were SO Grateful for this. He setup Massages & Wave runners, right on the property. Rosario & Araceli did a fantastic job with our laundry. Our rooms were very clean! Rosario & Araceli cooked all our meals & snacks! Hats off to you girls the food was fantastic! Always a big warm smile on there faces! It was hard for me to stay out of the kitchen, not use to having someone wait on me hand and foot. Now that I'm home I miss it! Enjoying the pool & the ocean allday was so great we didn't even want to leave. The walks along the beach were great. if you walk to Bucerias it takes approx. 1 hour 20 min. We Highly recommend this property ! Can't Say Enough about it. Group from Minnesota!

Experience of a Lifetime!
You can’t begin to describe how amazing this property is without mentioning Gilberto and Cheli! They truly make you feel special and at home. The location right on the beach, the beautiful house, the ocean view from every room, make this property just stunning. Between Gilberto and the ladies they keep the entire place remarkably clean, from the rooms to the pool. Each room has ample space, a private bathroom and air conditioning. We enjoyed every delicious meal outside. Cheli’s cooking is confident and never disappointed. Gilberto made sure that everything we wanted was readily available. My family and friends all had the time of our lives at Villa Salamandra. We have visited PVR every year since the 90’s and this was the most remarkable experience we have had. I definitely see us coming back to this property in our future.

Incredible property near Nuevo Vallarta
The property is awesome. You walk on to the beach from the property: warm water, good waves and almost a private beach. The house is very spacious, with the large bedrooms, all with bathrooms, allowing privacy. There is a great open area in the middle of the house for eating, looking at the view and sunsets and swimming in the pool. Making our stay even more fantastic was the service provided by Gilberto and the cooking by Chelli which was superb. Gilberto anticipated every need and was very flexible given the requests made by 11 people of whom 5 were children. I couldn't recommend the property and our stay more highly.

Best house ever
This property was amazing and probably the nicest we have ever stayed at. The beach is extremely private, the house is a piece of art, and the views from the pool are unreal. Staff accommodated our every need and went above and beyond for us.

Marvelous Villa with Incredible Staff!
The villa is huge and can comfortably accommodate a large group. It sits right on the beach just a few steps away. Every single room had a breathtaking ocean view and its own bathroom. The sound of the waves was soothing. We loved the house and scenery so much, we stayed in every night and enjoyed the incredible sunsets. I loved the openness of the villa and the fresh air, we couldn't stop taking pictures. What really made this an exceptional experience was the staff, especially Gilberto. From the moment we arrived, he really went above and beyond and made sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves at all times. It was unobtrusive but friendly. He treated us with high regard and respect. Gilberto also did all the grocery shopping and anything else we needed (including refill liquor runs after his shift). He also drove us around to different towns and always made sure to hang out a few minutes to make sure we were okay before he headed off. He was professional, personable and worked tirelessly to make it an experience of a lifetime. The home-cooked meals were delicious, fresh and with generous portions. We loved all their recommendations and every meal was different. My friends loved their homemade salsa so much, they even packed us some to take home and provided us the recipe. There' s also a night guard and guard dogs that watch the premises all night. Honestly, I feel our group has high standards and high expectations, but they were all met. With Gilberto, you arrive as honored guests but leave as family. It was definitely an experience of a lifetime! Thank you!

A little bit of paradise.
Great house with room for 12 high maintenance women to have space and community when they wanted it. Awesome beach, great weather, the the house staff was incredible. Gilberto speaks great English and helped us get what ever we needed, whenever we wanted it. Highly recommend, the owner was in good contact about particulars beforehand as well.
