My host Shekhar and his family invited me for breakfast and dinner daily and since I traveled by myself I could learn about Nepal and local culture. Shekhar and his daughter took me around Katmandu to learn about history and tempels. I can give best recommendations for his resort for anyone who look for a less busy place then the crowded center of Katmanduâ

Shailendra and Amrita, the owners, make sure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Rooms are comfortable, quiet, and the ones in the front have a wonderful view of the pond, with the mountains as the background. â
âThis is a lovely new hotel in Kathmandu. Spotless rooms and attractively maintained exterior and interior. Nothing to complain about and only good things to say. When the power went out several times, as it is prone to do occasionally in Kathmandu, the generator kicked in immediately. Heater worked well, for the cool nights. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Food at breakfast and dinner was great. So was the coffee. I will stay here again.â

âWe stayed 9 nights at Orchid Home. Orchid Home B&B is quietly located on short distance by bigger road. About 7 minutes walk from Orchid is a taxi stand and from there you can reach all places in Kathmandu. Every morning enjoy of a wonderful breakfast of eggs, freshly baked pastries and fruit. âThis beautiful boutique hotel offers traditional Newari charm in the heart of Lalipur, just a short walk to Patan Darbar Square. The reception staff were friendly and super helpful and the room just full of character. Loved it.
