The Space:
The Mini Mountain Hut 2 by Tiny Away is just 25 minutes from New Plymouth and near the locality of Mangorei. It offers a secluded, tiny house experience with direct access to the Pouākai Crossing. Surrounded by private gardens and nestled under the mountain’s watchful eye, this retreat blends comfort with nature's call. Explore nearby treasures like Egmont National Park, Lake Mangamahoe, and the Coastal Walkway, including the iconic Te Rewa Rewa Bridge.

A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're booking for a group, we also have a second tiny home, "The Mini Mountain Hut 1," available with 24 hours' notice, ensuring you have even more cozy holiday homes to enjoy.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to our cozy tiny home and surrounding areas. The main barn house is restricted unless permission is requested from the host.

The Mini Mountain Hut 2 by Tiny Away is located 25 minutes from New Plymouth in Mangorei. With its sunny climate and rich arts scene, our tiny home is framed by the iconic Taranaki Maunga, which provides a dramatic backdrop and easy access to the hiking trails of Egmont National Park.

New Plymouth's parks and gardens offer gorgeous sights year-round. Or, lace up your hiking boots and venture into Taranaki Maunga. With vast land coverage comes plenty of unique things to see and do. Come and experience the best of Mangorei and New Plymouth at our cozy abode today.

Explore the Pukenui Forest Kiwi Zone for an unforgettable adventure among native bush, streams, and towering trees. Hike and experience this habitat while supporting efforts to protect New Zealand’s iconic kiwi in their natural environment!

Be sure to explore Pouākai Crossing, Egmont National Park, and Lake Mangamahoe for incredible nature experiences. Scenic walks await at the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway and the peaceful Pukekura Park.

Getting Around:
By Car:

- To nearest towns: Half-hour drive, 20 km.
- To the nearest city, New Plymouth: Half-hour drive, 20 km.

By Public Transport:

- Taranaki Mountain Shuttle provides transportation services in the area.

By Flight:

- The nearest airport is New Plymouth Airport (NPL).
- From the airport, it’s approximately a 30-minute drive to the location.
- Alternatively, you can arrange for a shuttle or taxi service from the airport to your destination.

- Wifi is unavailable

- Pets are not allowed at this property
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

Beautiful stay!!

The place is amazing! Nice little spot right next to the Mangorei track. Beautiful views of the mountain on the drive to the house and views of the harbour inside the hut. Lovely house with everything inside you
