“Beautiful location and a very comfortable bed, however, for a 4* rating hotel in quite a small town location, one would expect a more personal-touch type of a customer service. Room was very comfortable but upon closer inspection of the bedroom/bathroom aspects, quality comes closer to 3* level. ”

“The room was cozy and comfortable. The staff was very nice and friendly and there was a nice selection of snacks and breakfast items in our room. Dinner in the restaurant was very good and the bar was good too. Our only complaint was that there was no WIFI for our entire stay which made it difficult for planning some activities due to the fact everything is booked online these days. ”

“Just returned from wonderful two night stay at Black burn Lodge and it lives up to the rave reviews. Stunning location by the river, where we spent the evenings in the gazebo enjoying the views and a glass of Baileys . The room was spotlessly clean with high quality bedlinen and furnishings. Also separate lounge if weather not great. The hosts make you feel so welcome and provide a lot of formation about where to eat and visit in the area. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again.”

The breakfast room was somewhat utilitarian and could have been improved by some wel chosen pictures on the walls and possibly a carpet or rug under the tables, but otherwise perfectly adequate....
