Loved how secluded and quiet this little space was, overlooking the trees. While the listing says "water view" and "ocean view," the view of the water is a small slice through the trees, it is more accurate to say that this is a forest view property, that said, there is a hint of water, and I did very much enjoy the "tree house" feeling of this loft space. It was a cozy space to rest, read, and write, and very close to Coupeville.
Dislikes: having to wash my dishes in the bathroom sink, and kitchenette not as well stocked as I'd liked (there was only one tea bag, and no reusable plates or mugs—using paper cups isn't as enviro-conscious). When I used the coffeemaker to boil tea water, dead bugs floated down into my cup. There was a bit of mildew in the corners of the shower, and some of the face towels smelled of mold. The stairs going up into the space were slippery when wet, and my poor elderly dog had to be carried, which was treacherous for all of us in the dark. The owner may want to consider installing stair treads—it's a simple fix. Having recently gotten over a bad fall injury myself—this would be much appreciated. Renters, if you have any trouble with walking stability—stay on the lower units.
All this said, I did really enjoy my weekend here. If I come back, I'll be better prepared and carry more of my own stuff, and might stay on a lower floor, if they are dog-friendly.
