Weeklong family getaway
The cabin is lovely and situated so that you feel the mountain views are all your own. Very comfy beds. Lots of games, puzzles, and plenty of other entertainment with the arcade game and all the options on TV. The chess game that is pictured in the listing is no longer present, however. I only mention it because my husband and son had planned to put it to good use, as they love to play. Very short drive to Franklin, and there are lots of beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls in the area. Highlands is nearby, but that winding drive is nerve-wracking for someone used to flat land, and we didn’t find much to do there to our taste. The waterfall on the property, sadly we never got to see. We tried, but it was much too steep. I’m impressed with how many reviewers say they made it. We were very happy with our stay and would be willing to return.

Peaceful getaway
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The waterfalls on the property were beautiful, careful getting to them. The path to them is not easy to hike down, so if you have mobility issues you may have to skip the hike. There are other paths on the property to walk/hike along. The cabin is secluded, you can see other cabins, but they are not close.
The cabin was very roomy and comfortable. There is a Keurig and coffee pot if you need your caffeine. Plenty of pots and pans if you want to cook. The view from the master bedroom is fantastic. The mattress in that bedroom is firm.
The arcade game is fun to play, many, many games. Found old games that brought back many memories from the past.
There is a shelf full of puzzles and board games. We had a few family game nights. We didn't use the TV's so we can't speak to the available channels/shows. Internet was good, we were able to work remotely when needed.
The heating system was tricky to first use, but we figured it out.
Before our stay, the owner answered my questions quickly.
We had a peaceful and comfortable stay. If we are ever in the area in the future - we would definitely stay here again.

Mountain View
Beautiful home and property. I took my son and his 2 daughters 2 and 5. Being native Floridians they wanted to see snow. We did have one snow day. The kids were so excited. The house was well stocked with toys for the kids as well. We definitely made forever memories.

Amazing Family Cabin Property
Very unique property on the edge of the National Forest. Amazing views, spacious rooms but still has a cozy feel. Lots of activities for a family with kids and also close enough to Highlands, Franklin, and Cashiers to see the local sites.

WONDERFUL, QUIET STAY
We had a wonderful time during our 2 1/2 week stay. Property is very beautiful and made even more so with the waterfall hike on the property. Hike is very steep going down and back up but manageable if you're in even somewhat decent shape. Hiking sticks are definitely recommended but the hike is well worth it.
We also enjoyed the location as it is almost half way in between Franklin and Highlands. This allowed us the best of both worlds given the different aspects of the two towns.
The owners were very quick to respond. We did not need much contact since we are very familiar with the area after owning a home in the NC mountains for 21 years. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. It allowed us full relaxation and the ability to focus on enjoying the area.

Awesome house for vacation
The house was amazing. The drive was a short distance to town, great location. The private drive to the house was well maintained, a access even when accessing after an evening out.
