Very peaceful quiet home
Very peaceful quiet home. This place is exactly what me and my wife are looking for a nice home with a beautiful pool overlooking a quiet valley. Place can be a little hard to find but was a great location for what we were looking for. The caretakers were very friendly and kept the place clean. We will definitely stay here again

Quiet and peaceful home
We enjoyed our week at the white house. The pool was amazing and was welcome after a day out in the sun. We had visits from toucans and also had a visit from a motmot. And of course lots of bugs on steroids. Overall it was a great week.

La casa es muy cómoda y la piscina muy linda. Paisajes maravillosos y mucha tranquilidad
La casa tiene muy buena distribución, menaje completo. La piscina muy linda. Excelente ubicación de las áreas de la casa. Terraza muy amplia y está integrada al área de piscina. Los propietarios muy colaboradores. Lo que puede mejorar: existen muchos artículos de uso personal dentro de la casa, muchas alfombras que no se ven limpias, encontramos comida y artículos de uso personal de huéspedes anteriores, la limpieza general de la casa al ingresar puede ser mejor. No logramos conectar la televisión por cable, tuvimos que utilizar nuestra cuenta de Netflix.

Has potential
This house is located just off the main highway down an unmarked road. Initially we loved the seclusion, but the second night there was extremely loud music playing somewhere nearby and it was blasting from 6pm to 7am. People here like to party. Pura Vida. The view was gorgeous and the pool would have been great, but it was so dirty that we couldn't even see the bottom. I didn't get in it once. The property manager promised the second day it would be better because he needed to clean it. Well, I don't know what he did, but by the end of our stay the pool hadn't changed at all. It looked like it needed to be drained, bleached, and scrubbed with steel wool. Our stay was last minute and we appreciated the owners letting us come in at short notice. However, the owners response time was very slow and we submitted a payment when we requested to book the property, but the owner didn't approve it in time so it didn't go through. So when we came back to the property after a long day at the beach, looking forward to showering and going out to dinner, the property manager was there waiting, his car parked behind ours- and basically wouldn't let us leave until he had confirmation from the owner that we had resubmitted the payment. It was a little disconcerting. The house is older and the appliances are also older. *note- the oven is in Celsius* The set of table and chairs on the patio with a view of the pool look pretty, but the cushions are too thick on the chairs and you can't sit properly at the table to enjoy a meal. The next thing that bothered me was lack of fresh sheets on the beds. The first night my 7 year old daughter got into bed and was promptly stung by a scorpion. I proceeded to pull all the sheets and pillowcases off our 2 beds shake them, and re-make the beds. There were white particles under our pillows, so I know they had been sitting like that for awhile. Our guests however weren't as vigilant. The next morning as another girl was making her bed she found a scorpion in her bed near her pillow. Luckily she didn't get stung. Maybe spraying the perimeter of the house and the inside corners of the rooms with bug spray might prevent future scorpion findings. The last thing that bothered me was the lack of cleanliness in the kitchen. Part of the allure of renting a house over a hotel is the ability to make your own meals. In the utensil drawer mold was growing on several of the items. The garbage bags provided were too small for the can.

Thank you for the candid review Ashley, the points you raise are valid and we will take steps to address them immediately. Very occasionally we have heard music in the distance but it has always been faint as the closest neighbors are a kilometer away. A chief advantage to us has always been how peaceful it is. We are sorry that your experience was so different. This was our first booking and as you say was taken at very short notice so it was a scramble to get thing ready (less than a day). We appreciate you re booking the reservation when it was cancelled by the site, on the last night of your stay. The pool has been thoroughly cleaned now and is in perfect condition. We are sorry you weren’t able to enjoy it. Half of the house is older, the rest is new, as are the stove, microwave and coffee maker. We will correct the issue of the chair/table heights. We had the house fumigated a month ago, but will ensure this is done prior to each guests’ stay. We realize that we didn’t re-install the draft-protectors at the bottom of the outside doors after the renovation and believe this is where access was gained. Another thing to immediately rectify. We will follow up with our property manager on all of the points you have raised. Thank you again for the review which gives us the opportunity to improve the property.
