Welcome to Bearable Pleasures!

Our water front property is truly a nature lovers paradise! 1.5 acres of privacy and 175 feet of waterfront on a quiet bay on the Ottawa River. Pet and family friendly getaway where you can build new memories with loved ones, during any season.

In the summer, easy water entry for swimming and boating, enjoy the river on the shore by the fire pit, or sit on the dock for a beautiful view or catch a fish or two. There are areas on the river where you can watch birds and wildlife, kayaks with life jackets provided for your safety. In the winter, you can still have an outdoor fire, enjoy the hot tub, ice fishing is fantastic in the bay (available a few weeks only in January and February if weather allows), toboganning is possible right in the back yard, and snowshoeing is also a blast.

This lovingly built cottage offers large principal rooms for family gatherings! Cozy kitchen along with a dining area for meals together, with view on the river. A large family room with pool and ping pong table, card table, Google tv for streaming your favorite shows, play room for toddlers... everything needed for entertaining adults and kids on cool or rainy days!

Every thing is provided, linen, towels, fully equipped kitchen with Keurig machine and filtered water, propane bbq, just bring your food, personal items and bathing suits. No daily maid service is provided. The property is to be left clean as on arrival.

Yes your pet dog is welcome. We do not allow cats or other animals. We ask dogs be kept on our property, not allowed to roam, kept quiet, off our furniture and cleaned up after.

Enjoy the large deck that fills with sun, a veranda to dine in, or an evening fire by the fire pit, any season. Only a 45 minutes drive from Ottawa, and 20 minutes from Rockland where you can find all amenities you need, like grocery stores, LCBO, gas station.

This cottage offers best of both worlds - peace and tranquility or fun and adventure!

**Note 1 - Check-out days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only to allow time for maintenance - exceptions may be possible upon request**
**Note 2 - Due to safety reasons, both propane fireplaces are not operational**

Relaxing Weekend Away

Work Stay

Stayed here with my work crew for a construction project on a local soalr farm. Hosts were friendly and great communication. The house is very nice with lots of bedrooms and space for group gatherings or personal space if needed. Greta amenities and beautiful view. Will stay here again

Rewarding and relaxing stay

Our group of five had the chance to book this location for the second time. We enjoyed the fireplaces, the view and the quiet. The place is very clean and spacious.The host was easy to reach and answered promptly to our questions. Would recommend!

Très beau site. Vue imprenable sur la rivière. Nous y sommes venu pour faire de la pêche sur la glace en famille. Malheureusement il y a eu beaucoup de vent de sorte qu’on a pu pêcher qu’en soirée sans bon résultat.

Wonderful stay and beautiful sunset

We were 6 friends for our stay at the cottage. We had a lot of fun, the place is great, comfy and quiet. Amazing view of the sunset over the river. We had a lot a fun with the kayaks and canoes provided by our host. However, I would'nt recommend to swim in the river since it's full of algae. The cottage was even bigger than we expected and the rooms were comfy and clean. Overall, we're super satisfied and we'll come back for sure.

Wonderful property

This property was exactly as advertised and suited us perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed the rural setting (bullfrogs, hawks, herons, blazing sunsets, peaceful sunrises) and appreciated the modern conveniences ( air conditioning, wi-fi, hot tub, laundry, dishwasher, Keurig). The property was clean, well-cared for, and nicely outfitted. All 3 generations felt our stay was too short.

Wonderful property but no swimming

It’s a great property - a beautiful, spacious and comfortable house with lovely views. The hot tub, ping pong and pool table were all well used. We canoed and fished. However, it was overshadowed because we weren’t able to swim. The weeds were terrible and the water was stagnant and very unappealing. It looked better the day we were leaving after a day of wind and rain but it still wouldn’t be very pleasant because of the quantity and height of the weeds. The property manager was very responsive and kind but, of course, couldn’t fix the water Issue. Everything else was perfect..

Perfect!

We had a very easy and relaxing stay in the beautiful and spacious house. There was everything we needed for sunny days, rainy days, adults and children. There was a grocery store and Walmart just 20 minutes away so not a lot of pre-planning was needed. Thank you for having us.

Amazing Gettaway

Great Place on the quiet Ottawa River. The hot tub and fire pit add to the ambiance. Ping Pong and the pool table are great for the kids. Kayaks make for great fishing or just to paddle around in the calm waters. Close to amenities in Wendover or Rockcliff.
