  • Anavo Farm Retreat ligger i hjärtat av vinlandet Santa Ynez i den lugna byn Ballard. Great location and a beautiful and peaceful area. The sunrises are incredible and the night sky is amazing. The accomodations are comfortable, spacious and private. It was a treat to feed the animals and go for walks just in the Ballard area. Thanks Jen!

I absolutely loved my stay at Anavo Farm. Beautiful farmhouse cottage on a beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood. Close to central Solvang and Los Olivos.Jen is a gracious host and is quick to respond to any needs or questions. And of course the animals! Such a joy to have some interaction with them.I would definitely stay here again if visiting Los Olivos again and highly recommend.

Absolutely charming cottage in a beautiful setting. The owner designed the entire place with a rustic quaint yet modern style creating a relaxing atmosphere. The farm animals on the property, and the friendly visiting dogs, add special fun.

Anavo Farm is a magical place to stay. Not only is the rental immaculate and well-equipped, but the owners have paid attention to lots of important details. Unlike other rentals I have stayed in, Anavo Farm has comfortable furniture, lovely decor, free snacks and a bottle of wine--plus, they have all sorts of necessities in the bathroom that travelers might forget at home. The farm is idyllic and peaceful. We loved seeing (and feeding) the animals, the beautiful grounds, the foliage and blooming wisteria, plus we saw tons of cute little furry critters. Location was central to everything in the area and easy to access. Can't say enough about this place. Thanks, Jen for making your rental feel like a welcoming retreat.

We have stayed in VRBO's all over Europe (since 2000) and the US (since 1998) and Anavo Farm is one of our top 5 stays! We adored the peaceful, tranquil setting, the house was perfect for two, the animals came running for treats and Jen was the ideal host! The house had everything you could want - even some thoughtful treats to kickoff your stay. I took an online jeans making course from upstairs, looking out over the valley, the ancient oak trees, the animals wandering the field and barely paid attention to my lessons! A tasting at Brave & Maiden winery was outstanding, dinner at The Gathering Table was superb and Bob's Well Bread a delightful walk for breakfast (almost a mile one way). You'll leave wanting a return visit as soon as possible!

Such a peaceful spot, yet close to all the valley restaurants and wineries. The best part, sitting on the deck with wine and seeing the animals, the mountains, and sunset.

Wonderful place

This adorable, quiet retreat was just as described in the listing. Everything was perfect, from the lovely grounds, the views, the quaint and extremely well-appointed property, and the thoughtful attention to detail. Jen is a delightful host who communicated exceptionally well throughout my stay. I loved staying here and would love to return.

Cute and very comfortable redone barn. Great napping couches upstairs. Loved the animals and the convenient location to everything…SY, Los Olivos, Foxen Canyon and lovely local farm produce to make excellent meals in.

Loved this place,especially the views from the upstairs & deck! Jen was very easy to communicate with & super simple check in. Lovely that we were given a bottle of wine, cheese, snacks & fresh eggs! So nice to hear running water from the fountains while you relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. You can even feed the animals and pick your own lavender ;-) Close to all surrounding towns and winery's, couldn't be better. Thank You Jen!

Perfect place

We had the most fantastic stay at Jen’s guesthouse. It is even more beautiful than the images in the listing. We stayed here over the weekend when we got married in the area and the location, surroundings, the amenities Jen offers are truly unbeatable. We are already planning our next stay here. If you are looking for a peaceful gorgeous serene place to stay this is it!

A beautiful place to stay! We just loved it - the views, the animals and the place was wonderful! Great host and easy check in. Perfect for the 4 of us for a girls get away. Beds were so comfortable! Great farmhouse stay

Really loved this converted three-car garage into a two-story apartment - the decor and farmhouse appointments were really nice and we loved the natural light and brightness on the upper level especially. Also liked the outdoor spaces and all the views were spectacular. Great location for wine tasting and close to Solvang and Los Olivos restaurants.

Perfect location! The most charming, delightful space imaginable! So many complimentary items—wine in fridge available for purchase! Goats and sheep on site—beyond wonderful! I can’t say enough great things about this property. Our host, Jen was terrific. This is a wonderful place for a getaway.

Beautiful and Relaxing

This was probably one of the best places I have stayed in over the years. The cottage is lovely- beautiful views of the pasture and mountains from both upstairs and downstairs. Close to towns, while still feeling nice and unplugged. There was a welcoming bottle of wine and miscellaneous snacks- which was great after the my drive, and the animals were very sweet and friendly. Comfortable bed and couches upstairs and down. Would definitely stay here again.

Country chic!

The property is located on a farm featuring rescue sheep, goats, llamas and horses. We got to feed the goats, who are too cute! The house has everything you need, kitchen-wise, if you plan to make meals. The bed upstairs is very comfortable, and the upstairs has a great view of the surrounding area out of the windows. There are many, many books and magazines to read, and the owner left us a bottle of wine and lots of snacks to enjoy! Will definitely return!

Perfect Weekend

This was our second visit to Anavo Farms and we can’t wait to visit again! I celebrated my birthday here amongst the beauty and serenity of the farm and all of its’ inhabitants. Jenn is the perfect host and made us feel totally at home. So many cozy touches, a welcoming bottle of wine and an assortment of goodies including delicious cheese and farm fresh eggs. We enjoyed watching the animals in the pasture while having our morning coffee. There’s even food to feed them … so much fun. Close to Ballard, Los Olivos and many wineries. This is a very special place and we look forward to our next stay. Thanks again for everything Jenn!

We stayed at this charming sheep farm for New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day, and it was truly a magical experience. We were lucky enough to get a last-minute booking, and everything about the stay felt special. The property is beautiful, with incredible balcony views and the sweetest animals that happily come right up to you. It was such a unique and memorable experience.The thoughtful touches really stood out! complimentary cheese, wine, and snacks, incredibly comfortable bedding, and a space stocked with everything we could have needed. It was cozy, peaceful, and the perfect way to ring in the New Year.The only downside was communication with the host. I reached out prior to the stay with questions about early check-in, late check-out, and whether my child’s age was okay, but mostly received automated messages that didn’t address my questions directly. I also reached out upon check-in and later when the Wi-Fi wasn’t working and didn’t receive a response at the time. The host did eventually respond regarding the eggs and explained that the chickens rest during winter, which was completely understandable.My only concern was that quicker responses would have been reassuring if there had been a more urgent issue, though I do understand this may have been due to the New Year’s Eve holiday. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would absolutely recommend it and love to return.

Beautiful ranch retreat near Solvang

We immensely enjoyed our stay at the Solvang cottage. The property is perfectly located between the quaint towns of Solvang and Los Olivos. The cottage itself was designed beautifully as farmhouse chic and loved.... absolutely loved..... the beauty of the farm and all the furry friends that come with it. Though it rained during our stay, we found the home perfect for casual reading and games indoors for relaxation, watching the farm animals for entertainment, and curling up with movie after dinners in town. Definitely recommend the restaurants Mattei's Tavern in Los Olivos and SY Kitchen in Santa Ynez Valley. Hiking Trails that were worthwhile were Lovers Loop and Gaviota Wind Caves have beautiful scenery. The host was great to work from beginning to end. And all the special touches she placed in the home were greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back!
