“Loved the stay and the view of the northern lights”

“This is a lovely cottage in a quiet neighborhood and tiny village. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed the house. The kitchen is well appointed, although we only used it for light breakfasts. We had fabulous weather, so we were able to enjoy the outside deck and sea air. There isn’t much to do in the village (but do visit the cute wool boutique with nice items a short walk from the house!). There’s a highly rated restaurant in the village, but we didn’t try it. However, Selfoss is less than...

“Easy access to everything and also freeways”

“Could have used more information in writing in the house on systems/appliances (e.g., washer/dryer, dishwasher). The door between bathroom and two downstairs BRs needs to be shaved; it is sticking. Given such small BRs on the main level, there should at least be some shelves and/or more hooks. The sofa is REALLY worn; otherwise, the common area is excellent and attractive for a group of our size.”

The kitchen is large and fully stocked with everything needed to cook. The location is perfect for day trips to all of southern Iceland. ”

“This was our first trip to Iceland. This house was the perfect place to stay, as we had a rental car (all cars are stick shift btw so be prepared!) . There was plenty of space, wonderful appliances to use if we needed them, pleasant geothermal heating and heated water, a lovely deck and a hot tub, and walking trails nearby. The property manager gave us some very helpful tips, especially about finding local swimming/hot pot/sauna options. Very comfortable. Highly recommended!”

“We enjoyed our stay. The location was central for us to use as a hub to take day trips out and back from. It was just the right size for two. The guesthouse was clean and bright and we were greeted by chickens and a rooster upon arrival.”

“Wir hatten eine wundrrvolle Woche in Renates Häuschen. Das Haus ist gut eingerichtet und war sehr sauber. Renate ist eine sehr nette Vermieterin und hat uns bei Fragen geholfen. Das Beste ist allerdings die Lage des Häuschens, so eine perfekte schöne Alleinlage mit einem fantastischen Blick und dann noch ein toller Hot pot besser geht es nicht!! Ich kann es nur empfehlen!!”

We had an amazing time celebrating New Year’s Eve mostly due to the very charming neighborhood we were fortunate to be a part of for a few days.”

“An adorable quiet and private cabin with everything needed to live and cook comfortably. Ideally a washer/dryer on site would be preferred (although washing in the sink and drying on the radiator works fine). It’s ideally located for day trips around the golden circle including 2 different thermal soaking pools within 30 minute drives. You can even see the geyser erupt from the deck. The door lock sticks but we eventually figured it out.”

“After traveling half way across the world to see Iceland for the first time, with just 30 minutes before check in time we had still not received check in instructions. I reached out to the host, who responded by canceling our reservation. He said he wasn't able to get the cleaning done and wasn’t in the area. There we were 3 hours in the middle of nowhere and no place to stay. I pleaded with him. He was cort and said he had meant to cancel us earlier but had forgotten. We were left completely...

“Jag tyckte det var bra med kylskåp och kokmöjligheter på rummet. Badrumsdörren tycker jag ni kan fixa till med något vattenfast längst ner. Saknas kanske information på rummet om vart man hittar nya handdukar vid längre vistelse samt vart man kan slänga sopor. Men överlag bra och skulle jag resa till Island igen så bokar jag igen.”
