“We had a great time. It was fun to hit the slopes then relax in the hot tub and sauna. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The kids loved the property and kept busy. We will definitely be back.”

“This is a great place to stay with easy access to the chair lift. It's also extremely convenient that the shop downstairs has ski rentals!”

“Amazing / Friendly ”

“The room was clean but it did not have cups for coffee. In fact there wasn't any coffee. A bigger coffee maker would have been nice. And there were no cups in the bathroom or facial tissue. There wasn't an ice machine. This is a no frills place to stay.”

“The overall experience was good at the Royal Bear! The place was cozy and had a lot of character to it. The downside was that the gas stove was broken so we had to use the wood burning stove. It was a lot of work to get it lit and my hair still smells like a bonfire. Both of the beds were uncomfortable so our group did not get very good sleep. It's walking distance to a grocery store and Aceq which is a really amazing restaurant! Great access to the ski resort as well.”

“Had to request a new room bed was broke in room 100, curtain rods fell on me while trying to close them, strong oder in room. Requested a new room at 8:00 pm no mention of a credit for inconvenience. ”

“Stayed 2 nights and there was severe construction noise across the street starting at 7am, second day was quiet. Shower needs another glass panel in back to keep water off the floor, and the kitchen seating is too tall for comfort at the counter. Front window is great for light, but needs a privacy curtain that allows light to transmit. Aside from these annoyances, the rest of the experience was very good. Check in instructions were never sent, and it has to be done at their slopeside sister...

“It was fine for a couple of nights. There wasn't maid service for either night because it was in the middle of the week and the maid staff is off those days...?”

“We enjoyed our stay and the location! The road noise was a little loud if you are use to sleeping in the country but the window treatments were great at keeping the cool air out and the sun from beaming in too early. It was super convenient to town & the shopping center next door was perfect!”

“I have stayed here a number of times. The location is mid town in small hamlet of red river so it’s walking distance to everything. This hotel is on the rustic side as everything in Red River is but has recently been remodeled and has Been sold and is undergoing another extensive remodel. No breakfast here yet but several places to eat breakfast in town. Some rooms are suites with fireplace. Very clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Recommended stay…”

“We had a very comfortable stay at the lodge. We didn't get to try the restaurant on the main floor of the building, but the stay was good. Pros: Comfortable beds, and sufficient bedding. Walking distance to a few restaurants and the grocery store. Cons: It's a hotel room. There's the standard coffee, and toiletries but nothing else. It would have been nice to have a note or some local info. There's a small mini fridge w a freezer shelf. The wifi was probably the most problematic. It seemed like...

“A good place for a group of people ”

“Very convenient booking and checkin, hot water, WiFi, really just needed a place to sleep after snow boarding. Awesome restaurant on first floor but not part of lodge. It would be nice if they offered specials for guests staying at lodge. Parking lot could be maintained better, with fresh layer of gravel and trash pickup. Lodge in need of renovation, but that is expected of a NM wore out ski town.”

“Our stay was not great… the location of the property is phenomenal with a great sunrise view. Unfortunately everything else lacked, the walls are very thin, the electric lock does not lock well, the fire sprinklers are taped over, the refrigerators, both stunk, our towels were not clean. I’m sure there’s more I could list, the unit needed some TLC to make it a good stay. The customer service was also great!”

“The heat in our room would not turn off the entire stay. We had to keep the porch door and window open entire time and it was still hot. We reached out to the property manager and received no help. Only after begging someone to come look at property did they send out someone and they said the heat was coming from next room. It was 80 degrees in our room. They offered no fans or any remedy. They just left the room. Absolutely terrible experience.”

“Property was easy to find and centrally located in Angel Fire. The property was freshly painted and in good standing order. Without an AC it can be a bit warm until the sun goes down, so plan on a fan. Overall I would rate this property for its location and fresh paint an A. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to sleep for their visit to Angel Fire.”

“It was cheaper then other options. Basic but clean. Paper thin walls make even a quiet conversation in other rooms problematic. Loud TV or party next door will make sleep impossible. Restaurant on property is good. Close to market was nice. ”

“It was dirty and all of the faucets were broken. Bed was uncomfortable and linen was soiled.”

“We loved our stay here. Got to see the stars from inside and outside the house and we hiked to the hot springs. It is a unique location and we would highly recommend it.”

“The property is quaint and in a great location. The incense smell is strong and the refrigerator makes a clanking noise, making it more difficult to sleep. ”
